About Us

Purpose

TEAM School is a non-disciplinary, drop-out prevention program of choice, and participation requires active commitment, personal accountability, and a willingness to grow. TEAM School is located on its own campus at the Fulton Education Center. This program is designed to assist students who are at risk of not graduating by utilizing a nontraditional teaching format and flexible instructional delivery models. TEAM’s individualized approach focuses on providing students with the support, structure, and accountability necessary to achieve academic success and meet graduation requirements in an accelerated manner.

The Application Process
Indicators for TEAM School Placement

The Application Process

The Application Process:

Students/parents consult their CHS counselor if there is a desire to attend TEAM.
The student then completes the TEAM application on the CISD website.
Completion of the application DOES NOT guarantee enrollment at TEAM.
Once the application is submitted, the student will be placed on a priority list based on the totality of their circumstances.
Students may move up or down the list as more students are added or circumstances change.
Students are prioritized based on the following:
- Special life circumstances
- Graduation Cohort Date - seniors have 1st priority
- Number of credits (behind)
- Current effort being made toward recovering lost credits
- Current grades (Failing two or more core courses in a semester)
- Effort and results put forth to pass STAAR/EOC tests
- Attendance
- Discipline (Non-disciplinary student)

When space becomes available:

TEAM administration and the CHS administration and Counselor/s meet to discuss applicants on the list.
Student and parent/guardian must complete an interview process and orientation with the Principal of Alternative Education at the Fulton Education Center prior to admission to TEAM.
Student and parent/guardian sign a commitment letter and additional required paperwork at the orientation.
After the interview process, the Principal will notify the parent/guardian a start date or verify continuation at CHS. TEAM admin will notify CHS of a date for withdrawal to enroll at TEAM or alternative option if continuing enrollment at CHS.

Indicators for TEAM School Placement
